Meditations to Learn for Home Use

Find a comfortable place, to sit down, and rest for a while.

Let us begin our meditation, it is a simple one, easy to remember to become relaxed at the end of day.

If it is safe to do so, let your eyes slowly close over.

Let’s start by doing 3 slow conscious breaths, as you breathe in, I want you to imagine yourself in a safe, comfortable place, full of warm light. You can choose any colour you want, I like to choose a soft, warm,  golden light, a little like gentle sunshine.

Now focus your attention on your body, and become aware of your breathing, all the magic happens when the breath and heart, pulse together in harmony. So focus on your breathing, let’s take one more nice, gentle breath, this time as you breath in, imagine in your mind that you are in your safe place filled with a warm, beautiful, healing light.

Breath in the light slowly, and release the breath however you wish, slow, or in a gush of air. You can breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth, or, breathe in through the nose and out through the nose. Then return to your normal regular breathing, and as you do this try to keep in mind, the light, the colour. Is the place you chose to rest, outside or inside, wherever it is, let the light now become brighter, stronger, and allow it to pulse gently, in rhythm with your breath.

Breathing in warmth and light, let it fill your lungs as it relaxes you, as you breathe out, release all thoughts that may be on your mind. Breathing in gentle peace and breathing out any tension in the body or mind.

All that is important at this moment is the breath, and the gentle rhythm of your heart, and the deepening sense of relaxation the breath brings to you.

As you continue to breathe in, in this mindful manner, become aware of the light becoming brighter, as it shines down on your head, a warm, gentle, pulsing light. As the light flows from your head and shoulders you can feel all tension leaving you, as you gently breath all the tension out, allowing your head and shoulders to become tension free, as you Relax………Relax…….Relax. More relaxed with each breath you exhale, deeper and deeper relaxed with every breath, the deeper you go, the more relaxed you become.

Mindful now that the light is flowing down from your shoulders, onto your upper back, your chest area, and all the way down your spine from the top flowing down to the bottom. Feel yourself starting to surrender to your easy breathing, and the relaxation process. As the warm, healing, light continues to drift down further, over you tummy, hips, and lower back as they too become warm and relaxed to the flow of the healing light. Now making it’s final decent down over you thighs, down the legs, and into the calves, then all the way down to your feet and toes.

Become mindful you are now cocooned, covered from head to toe in a bubble of beautiful healing light, totally relaxed through out your entire body. As you mindfully continues to breathe, watching yourself, feeling the quite, the stillness within you, as you just breathe in……………. and …………. out, just in and out. The breath is the key to becoming stress free and relaxed.

Allow yourself as much time as you need to stay and drift in this beautiful place of peace that you have created for yourself. Just drifting, floating, aware of your gently breathing. enjoying the feeling of being tension free and complete relaxation.

Stay in this space as long as you wish, and when your ready, slowly and gently bring yourself back to normal everyday consciousness, stretch, maybe have a glass of water.

Enjoy the feeling of being nice and relaxed in your body and your mind!
